Kembla St, Arncliffe, NSW
School
Description
In close partnership with Kingdom Culture Christian School, Paynter Dixon has embraced pedagogical excellence and design innovation in delivering Australia’s first entrepreneurial school.
Kingdom Culture School at Arncliffe in Sydney’s south has grown rapidly since it opened in 2015. Collaboration is fundamental to the school’s teaching – so a well-designed open learning space was the key design feature.
As Australia’s first entrepreneur school, it mimics design principles seen at Apple and Google headquarters and provides a space to teach ‘21st century skills’ to ‘21st century learners’.
The building boasts state-of-the-art amenities, driven by the three Cs – Creativity, Collaboration and Critical thinking. The layout provides students access to multiple breakout spaces, smart classrooms, and open-plan learning spaces.
In this new exposed post tensioned slab, the concrete needed to be durable and waterproof. Penetron Admix, as supplied by Metromix, was used to extend the service life of the structure. Penebar SW55 Type B was used to treat the pipe penetrations, preventing the possibility of water ingress to the underside. The slab was then sealed, densified and cured using Penetron’s concrete floor hardener Peneseal FH-PS.
Request the Master Penetron Specifications for examples of how to waterproof different areas of your building.
