ADMIX®
Why Use a Liquid Waterproofing Admix for Concrete?
SEAMLESS AUTOMATIC DOSING
IDENTICAL PROTECTIVE PERFORMANCE
Whether it’s cast-in-place, precast, or shotcrete, PENETRON ADMIX® LIQUID forms the same non-soluble crystalline network in concrete pores and capillaries.
THIS MEANS:
- Permanent waterproofing, blocking both positive and negative hydrostatic pressure.
- Self-sealing of cracks (up to 0.5 mm) throughout the concrete life cycle.
- Enhanced durability protects against chlorides, sulphates, and carbonation, ideal for harsh environments.
- AS 1478-1 compliant.
- AS 4020 approval for safe potable water structures.
SIMPLIFIED PROJECT SCHEDULING & LOWER COSTS
By dosing at the batch plant, you eliminate the complications of on-site powder storage, mixing, and cleanup. Liquid Admix goes straight into your hopper or dosing pump, saving labour hours, reducing on-site waste, and keeping projects on track.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND WARRANTY CONFIDENCE
Backed by Penetron’s 60 years of crystalline technology leadership, PENETRON ADMIX® LIQUID is covered under our established product warranty. Plus, our technical team is ready to work with you on trial mixes, dosage validation, and best practices for any project, large or small.
How Crystalline Waterproofing Admixture Works
SEAMLESS AUTOMATIC DOSING
PENETRON ADMIX® LIQUID is added to the concrete during batching, so the waterproofing technology becomes part of the concrete matrix from the start. Once mixed through the concrete, its active chemicals react with moisture and cement hydration by-products to form insoluble crystals within the pores, capillaries and microcracks.
This crystalline network helps block pathways that water would otherwise use to move through the concrete. Because the reaction is built into the concrete rather than applied only to the surface, it can continue to support waterproofing performance when moisture is present.
For builders, engineers and specifiers, this makes crystalline waterproofing admixture a practical option for structures exposed to groundwater, hydrostatic pressure, wet service conditions or aggressive environments. It supports durable concrete design while helping reduce the risk of future water ingress, access issues and remedial waterproofing costs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a waterstop, and why is it important?
A waterstop is a critical component in concrete construction that prevents water ingress at construction and expansion joints. It ensures the watertight integrity of structures, protecting them from leaks, damage, and long-term deterioration caused by water exposure.
What types of waterstops do you offer?
In which applications are waterstops typically used?
Penetron waterstops are commonly used in basements, tunnels, water containment structures, concrete expansion joints, and foundations. They are suitable for both new construction and remedial projects.
What is the PENEBAR SW series, and how does it work?
Can your waterstops be customised for specific projects?
Yes, our technical team provides customised support to help you choose the ideal waterstop for your needs. This ensures the perfect fit and peak performance for both complex projects and standard applications.
